Texas real estate is a fairly unique market within the industry. While the Texas real estate market has several large cities, like most other states, they also have a lot of open land. The big city part of the Texas real estate market is pretty much the same as in any other state. This aspect of the Texas real estate market goes through the same cycle as anywhere else and is highly dependant on the current health of the economy. It is the vast amounts of open land in the Texas real estate market that requires a different approach.
Most of the open land in the Texas real estate market does not yet have anything built upon it so the approach to buying and selling is different. Texas real estate of this type is sold for one of two reasons: the potential resources on that land or to develop the land with buildings. These two types of Texas real estate represent the bulk of transactions that occur. Texas is a beautiful state with a lot to offer in the way of scenery and resources. This has made the Texas real estate market very successful over the past ten years. How the Texas real estate market will progress in the future will be interesting to observe.
