I think that working as a real estate agent does not provoke the respect that it deserves. I often hear jokes about wearing a gold blazer, whether from my friends or movies and TV shows. But if you think about the function that a real estate agent serves in society, they are truly indispensable. Buying or selling a home is one of the largest financial transactions that anyone will make during their lives. Additionally, it is far more complex than almost any other transaction you will take part in. Some individuals will try to buy or sell a home without using a real estate agent, but will often get a bad deal as they lack the expertise in this market.
Becoming a real estate agent is not tremendously difficult. The education required, although very detailed, can be accomplished by most people that have the drive to succeed. The real challenge to becoming a real estate agent comes when they are young and new to the industry. Establishing a clientele and reputation as a real estate agent is one of the most difficult aspects of the job. Despite having passed all required exams to become a real estate agent, most people are reluctant to work with an inexperienced real estate agent. Many new real estate agents will often begin as an assistant to someone who has been doing the job for several years in order to gain a reputation and valuable contacts.
